Pepe given an ultimatum by Real

Real Madrid have presented Pepe with take-it-or-leave-it offer regarding his new contract at the club.

It seems the Real Madrid chiefs are becoming fed up with lengthy negotiations with Pepe’s representatives and they have now sent what will be their final offer.

The Portuguese has been offered a new contract worth €3.5 million per season, which is almost double the amount of his current earnings, but also a million short of what Pepe was asking for.

The Portuguese defender wanted a deal that falls into the category of second-class earners like Mesut Ozil and Sergio Ramos, but was  instead offered a pay similar to that of Lass, Ricardo Carvalho, Xabi Alonso and Higuain.

If Pepe rejects the final proposal, Real will be forced to sell the player next summer as his current deal is set to expire in June 2012.
