Spanish daily newspaper AS understands that Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is one of the names on Atletico’s list of potential replacements for first choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Los Colchoners are preparing for life without the Belgian keeper and have long ago started the search for a new number one.
AS has suggested that Levante shot stopper Keylor Navas remains their number one target, while Kiko Casilla, Diego Benaglio and Geronimo Rulli are also on the list, together with Spain keeper Pepe Reina.
Los Colchoneros believe Reina’s experience would be a big asset at Vicente Calderon and are prepared to try and prize him away from Liverpool.
The Spaniard is currently on loan at Napoli, and chances are he will be leaving on permanent basis in the summer.
The 31-year-old has been in fine form this season, having featured in 21 Serie A fixtures and nine European matches for the Azzurri.
