The latest reports from Germany suggest Schalke are on the verge of signing Rosenborg midfielder Per Ciljan Skjelbred.
The Bundesliga outfit look set to continue their shopping spree with Norway international Skjelbred likely to become the newest addition to the squad.
The players’ agent, Andreas Ekker confirmed Schalke interest.
“Schalke’s interest in Per is concrete.”
Rosenborg coach Erik Hoftun also admitted the midfielder could be moving to Germany.
“There was already a kind of dialogue. We have spoken to Per about this.”
After a very good last season, during which Schalke secured Champions League football, the club look determined to continue their rise going into the new season and they have already signed seven new players, with Raul the most notable signing so far.
