Perez wants Zidane to drop Pogba interest and use Bale

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has urged head coach Zinedine Zidane to drop his interest in Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and put Gareth Bale back into his plans, according to the Independent.

The story of Pogba’s potential move to the Spanish capital has been ongoing for a few months now, with most reports claiming it was Zidane who was keen to bring his compatriot and fellow World Cup winner to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real have already spent over €300 million on transfers this summer, and Perez is looking to pull the handbrake with the club struggling to complete deals the other way, especially when it comes to Bale. The club president is facing the fact that selling the Welsh winger is a bog problem, given his wage demands and the fact that he is 30 years old. He is therefore keen for Zidane to make the best of the situation and make Bale earn his wages on the pitch, while Zidane has been hoping to swap the former Tottenham Hotspur man for a creative midfielder, either Pogba or Christian Eriksen of Spurs.
