Roma have revealed that experienced midfielder Simone Perrotta has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
The midfielder’s previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season, but the club chiefs decided to offer the player a new year-long contract.
Under the terms of the new contract, the 34-year-old is set to earn €2.6 million per campaign, but the figure could rise further depending on performance related bonuses.
The club announced the deal on their official website on Monday evening.
“AS Roma and Simone Perrotta have agreed to extend the player’s contract with the club,” read a statement on club’s official website.
Simone Perrotta joined Roma from Chievo in 2004 and he has since amassed more than 200 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi.
Being able to cover almost all positions in midfield, the player became a real asset at Olimpico and has scored 34 league goals during eight seasons with the Giallorossi.
Perrotta, however, found it hard to hold on to a regular place this season, and started just 7 league games this term.
