Perrotta: We’re just as good as Inter

Roma midfielder Simone Perrotta insists they are just as good as Serie A rivals Inter.

The Giallorossi have fallen short in the Scudetto race for the last two seasons.

Perrotta told Sky Sport Italia: “There is such equality between the two teams on the pitch. The tiniest thing decides the games between us.

“As far as the other contenders are concerned, Fiorentina had a great summer in the market and strengthened in the right areas.

“We all know about Milan’s signings and Juventus are always Juventus, plus they have signed Amauri.

“This will be a much better championship than recent ones.”

Perrotta also commented on the national side following their win over Cyprus on Saturday.

He said: “Marcello Lippi is a very prepared Coach with lots of charisma and he gives this side a certain spirit.

“But things are always difficult and in recent years you can see that there are no weak sides at the top level.”
