Indonesian side Persipura Jayapura are through to the quarter-finals of the AFC Cup after a 3-1 win over Vietnam’s Song Lam Nghe An.

The Vietnamese Cup winners topped Group F in the previous stage, but fell behind on the half-hour mark when Persipura captain Boaz Solossa found the target from the penalty spot after a handball inside the box.

The Indonesian club doubled their lead five minutes later thanks to forward Titus Bonai’s strike at the near post.

After the break, Hong Viet Nguyen pulled a goal back for Song Lam Nghe An to raise the hopes of the home fans at Vinh Stadium.

But a stunning second goal from Bonai six minutes from the end killed off any hopes of a comeback.

Thai outfit Chonburi also booked their spot in the last eight on Wednesday with a 3-0 win over Indonesian side Sriwijaya.

The quarter-final draw is yet to be made, but the first legs are scheduled for September 13.
