Pescara reveal Verratti set for PSG switch; Udinese admit Napoli talks for Armero

Pescara reveal Verratti set for PSG switch

Pescara have confirmed reports that Paris Saint-Germain have agreed to sign midfielder Marco Verratti.

The talented midfielder was widely tipped to join either Juventus or Inter this summer, but it looks as though he will be leaving Italy after all.

Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani has explained that they have already accepted an offer from Paris Saint-Germain.

“PSG have always followed Marco and if the player agrees to the move then it will happen,” Sebastiani said to Radio Sportiva.

“There is already a total agreement between the two clubs.”

The 19-year-old midfielder, who came through the youth ranks at Pescara, enjoyed a brilliant season at Stadio Adriatico, playing a key role in team’s promotion to the Serie A.

The player likened to Andrea Pirlo even made provisional Italy squad for the European Championship, but he missed the final cut.

Verratti recently admitted he would be happy to join Juventus, but, once again free-spending Paris Saint-Germain stole a player from under their rivals’ noses.

Udinese admit Napoli talks for Armero

Udinese have admitted they are negotiating the sale of star player Pablo Armero to Napoli.

The Colombian full-back was one of star performers for the Zebrette last season and he has seen his name linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs.

Napoli were the latest club to join the race for the 25-year-old and Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo admits the negotiations with the Azzurri have already taken place.

“They are not only interested in Armero, but also in other players. There is absolutely nothing concrete,” Pozzo told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“However, I admit that we have talked about Armero’s transfer to Napoli.”

Udinese are well known for their policy of breeding talented players and selling them on to bigger clubs for profit, and the Zebrette remain adamant that every one of their players is available for sale at the right price.

Mauricio Isla and Kwadwo Asamoah have already been sold to Juventus and Pablo Armero could be the next star player to leave Friuli.

The Colombian international is rightly regarded as one of the best full-backs in world football, and his record of 11 assists in 28 Serie A games last term speaks volumes about his attacking qualities.

Inter interest in Porto star confirmed

The agent of Porto midfielder Fernando Francisco Reges has confirmed that Inter are showing interest in his client.

The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to Giuseppe Meazza last summer, but he eventually remained at Dragao.

The Neroazzurri appear to have now reignited their interest in the holding midfielder, and those reports have now received official confirmation.

“There was a conversation with Inter, but we have had no progress,” agent Antonio Araujo said to Record.

“It was somewhat informal. The club and the player have not received an official proposal, which is understandable because the contact occurred midway through the European Championship.

”If the proposal arrives and is appealing, we will consider it.”

The Brazilian midfielder has been earning rave reviews for his performances at the start of his career at Porto, but he has failed to keep the standard of his showings at the high level.

This is probably the reason why Inter chiefs are hesitating to make an official bid for the player’s services, although being just 24, the player clearly has a lot of room for improvement.
