Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is seriously considering the possibility of joining Besiktas, the player’s agent has revealed.
The experienced shot-stopper is not too happy at playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge and he has hinted that he is prepared to leave the Blues at the earliest opportunity.
Turkish giants Besiktas appear to be in the running for the player’s signature and one of Cech’s agents has moved to confirm that the Black Eagles indeed have a chance of landing his client.
“We have not held talks yet,” agent Mithat Halis told reporters. “However, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with Besiktas. Chelsea have similar deals with Vitesse and other clubs.
“If Cech does become available Besiktas would become a potential destination.”
Petr Cech has spent the best years of his career at Stamford Bridge, having joined from Rennes back in 2004, winning numerous domestic and European trophies with the Blues.
The 32-year-old has made a total of 327 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, while featuring in another 81 Champions League matches.
The Blues face Manchester United in a high-profile clash at Old Trafford tomorrow afternoon and they can be backed at 3/2 to emerge victorious.
