Peterborough United have accepted a bid of £10 million from Brentford for striker Ivan Toney, according to talkSPORT. However, Toney has yet to decide if he wants to join the Bees, with the former Newcastle United player keeping his options open in case a club from the Premier League come calling.
Brentford will play in the Championship next season after narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier League. The Bees did brilliantly after football resumed following lockdown and just missed out on automatic promotion to the top flight of English football. The London club then made it to the playoff final, only to lose it to Fulham.
The Bees have offered £6.5 million upfront with the rest in add-ons. Toney 24 goals in League One during the 2019-20 season and found the net 16 times in the league during the 2018-19 campaign, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk. If Toney does join the Bees, then he will enhance their chances of finishing in the top two of the Championship table next season.
