Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech insists that he has no desire to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has a contract until June 2013 at Chelsea, but has been repeatedly linked with a summer exit.
Young Thibaut Courtois, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, is tipped to replace Cech between the sticks, but the experienced keeper claims that he wants to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
“I am relaxed, I know we’ll find a way because I want to stay and the club want me to stay, so we just need to do it at the right time,” Cech said to club’s official website.”
“Football is far more important at the moment, but when we reach a time that is not so hectic we will finish it off.”
Chelsea officials have opened talks regarding a new contract with the player’s representatives and it is believed the two sides will have no problems reaching an agreement.
Cech joined Chelsea in a €13 million deal from Rennes in August 2004 and is currently considered one of the best goalkeepers in European football.
The experienced keeper has been virtually ever present for the Blues this season, having featured in 23 Premier League games.
