West Ham assistant boss Zeljko Petrovic has left the club in the wake of their woeful start to the English Premier League season.
West Ham have won just once so far this season and, with just nine points from their first 14 matches, are five points behind 17th-placed Fulham.
A statement on the club’s website revealed the departure on Tuesday but did not go into any details as to the reasons behind the move.
“West Ham United can confirm the club have parted company with assistant manager Zeljko Petrovic,” the statement said.
“The club would like to thank Zeljko for his efforts during his four months at the Boleyn Ground and wish him well for the future.”
The 45-year-old Montenegrin represented Dinamo Zagreb and PSV Eindhoven in a 17-year playing career and has had management roles at Portuguese side Boavista and Dutch outfit RKC Waalwijk.
Avram Grant’s West Ham side play Wigan at Upton Park on Saturday in a must-win game for the East London club.
