Hangzhou Lucheng maintained their perfect start to the Chinese Super League season with a 1-0 win over Qingdao Jonoon on Friday.
A goal from striker Paulo Pezzolano early in the second half was enough to send Hangzhou Lucheng to the top of the league again with three wins from as many games.
Pezzolano, 27, has made a bright start since joining the club in January by netting twice in his first three appearances.
Tianjin Teda moved to second with a 3-1 win over Shandong Luneng.
First-half goals from Tao Nie and Emanuel Odita gave the home side a two-goal buffer before the break.
Midfielder Benjian Li put the result beyond doubt with the third 10 minutes into the second half before Peng Han scored a consolation goal for Shandong in the 69th minute.
Shanghai Shenhua recorded their first win with a 2-0 win over the struggling Shenzhen Ruby.
A Yang Li own goal and a second-half strike from Luis Salmeron broke a four-game winless run for Shanghai, while keeping their defeated visitors winless and anchored to the bottom of the table.
