Philadelphia Union have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Ilson Pereira Dias Junior, more commonly known as Ilsinho.
The 30-year-old joins the Major League Soccer side on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk, with the club using Targeted Allocation Money to complete the deal.
Philadelphia Union have made quite a coup by recruiting a player with a wealth of Champions League experience and the one who still has a lot to offer.
Ilsinho made a name for himself at Shakhtar Donetsk, making a total of 109 league appearances and scoring 17 goals during the two spells in Ukraine.
The player, who made one appearance for the Brazil national team, also enjoyed stints with Palmeiras, Sao Paulo and Internacional, and he is now set to embark on a new challenge.
He has been without a club since his contract expired in June 2015, but the wait was well worth it as he eventually secured a lucrative move to the MLS.
