Philipp Lahm to sign a new Bayern deal

Bayern full-back Philipp Lahm is set to end speculations regarding his future by signing a new long-term deal at Alianz Arena.

With his current contract expiring in June 2012, Lahm will sign a four-year extension that will keep him at the club until 2016.

Bayern executive director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirms that the player has agreed to a contract extension.

“We have agreed a new contract until 2016 with Philipp Lahm, and it will be signed in the next few days.”

After tying up Franck Ribery and Thomas Muller to long-term contracts, Bayern are set to do the same with Philipp Lahm, leaving Bastian Schweinsteiger as the only key player in the side nearing the end of his current contract.
