Competition: World Cup
Market: Philippe Coutinho to score anytime
Odds: 21/20 @ Bet 365
Brazil must make amends for their opening-round 1-1 draw with Switzerland when facing Costa Rica.
Well, although they may not have suffered an embarrassing opening first game defeat, Tite’s World Cup favorites will know the importance of bouncing back and making an immediate statement. Despite dominating possession and creating several opportunities, Philippe Coutinho’s long-range stunner was canceled out by a Steven Zuber header for a share of the spoils. With talisman and captain Neymar limping out of training on Tuesday, once again, The Yellows will be looking to Barcelona and former Liverpool playmaker Coutinho to lead from the front. Along with scoring against Switzerland in the opening leg, Coutinho now has two in his last two for Tite’s men.
As for Costa Rica, although nobody expected Los Ticos to top their top spot finish four years ago, The Reds are coming off the back of a 1-0 loss to Serbia where they drastically struggled to create any chances. Along with losing their last three matches on the bounce, Costa Rica also hold an atrocious record against the South American champions. Los Ticos have lost all of their six previous meetings with The Yellows. In fact, Óscar Ramírez’s men have conceded 17 goals in those six meetings and they have failed to register a single goal in three of those.
