Juventus remain keen on Phillips

While Kalvin Phillips might have converted from the penalty spot against Red Star earlier in the and bagged a maiden Champions League strike, it is no secret that the England international will be heading for the Etihad exit during January’s transfer window.

Drastically struggling to break into Pep Guardiola’s first-team plans since completing a £45million move from Leeds last year, the 28-year-old finds himself at a major career crossroads.

Once again left as an unused substitute as Manchester City eventually collapsed to a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, Phillips has already accepted that his future lies away from the defending champions.

However, despite not making a domestic appearance since back on November 4th, the former Leeds star has plenty of European admirers waiting in the wings.

Although the likes of Newcastle might have been rumoured to be planning a January swoop, it is Italian icons Juventus who appear to be sitting in the driving seat.

Chelsea consider Ramsdale swoop

With Robert Sanchez facing a stint on the sidelines after picking up a knock during Chelsea’s 2-0 loss against Everton on December 10th, the Blues suddenly have a new goalkeeper at the top of their January wishlist.

With Mauricio Pochettino’s side continuing to show a string of glaring inconsistencies since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, the former European champions are seeking a miracle in their bid to claim a European return.

Expected to once again break the bank during January’s transfer window, it appears that the former Tottenham boss has identified Aaron Ramsdale as his standout target to come in between the sticks at Stamford Bridge.

Controversially dropped by Mikel Arteta and firmly dethroned by ex-Brentford shot-stopper David Raya, the England international now finds himself on the outside looking in at the Emirates.

With it heavily suggested that Ramsdale is keen on securing a move away from north London to shore up his place in Gareth Southgate’s EURO 24 squad, Chelsea could be smelling the chance to produce a major January swoop.

Osimhen to extend his Napoli stay

Making real history last season as they got their hands on a first Serie A crown since 1990, it was certainly Victor Osimhen who played a crucial role in Napoli’s iconic domestic flurry.

Cementing his spot as one of Europe’s elite marksmen after notching 26 Serie A strikes, the Nigeria ace has also staked his claim as a major fan favourite around Naples.

However, while the 24-year-old might have failed to find a similar free-scoring flurry this time around, Osimhen has a string of European giants that are all keen on snapping up his signature.

Nevertheless, despite continued speculation that Chelsea are weighing up a club-record bid for Napoli’s attacking talisman, it appears that the 27-cap international will be extending his stay with the reigning Italian champions.

Along with inching towards a new deal that would see him stay put at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona until 2026, it has also been suggested that a £115million release clause will be inserted in that extension.

Modric heading for Los Blancos exit

Watching Jude Bellingham enjoy a record-breaking start to life in Madrid since completing a blockbuster £100million move from Borussia Dortmund, it is no secret that Carlo Ancelotti is looking to take Los Blancos in a more youthful direction.

While Luka Modric might have cemented his spot as a modern-day icon at the Bernabeu since arriving from Tottenham back in 2012, it looks like the Croatian icon will finally end his 11-year stay in the Spanish capital next summer.

Although it might have been heavily suggested earlier in the year that Modric would be the latest European superstar to head over to Saudi Arabia, the 38-year-old made it clear that he wanted to see out his current deal with Madrid.

However, while Carlo Ancelotti might have been filled with praise for the 172-cap international throughout this season, it has been suggested that Los Blancos are unwilling to offer their midfield talisman a contract extension.

Now firmly in the twilight of his career, it has been reported that Modric has plenty of interest from both the MLS and Middle East that are eager to snap up the five-time Champions League winner on a free transfer.

United struggle to ship out Sancho

Still at the heart of a public feud with Erik ten Hag and not making a single appearance across any competition since the end of August, Jadon Sancho finds himself at the heart of a major Manchester United nightmare.

Pushed into exile and with no signs of a compromise on the horizon with the former Ajax boss, the England international has been forced away from all of United’s first-team facilities.

Now training alone and failing to make any kind of impact since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021, both parties have accepted that a move away is best.

However, while there might have been plenty of speculation that both former club BVB and Juventus are keeping tabs on Sancho’s situation ahead of the January transfer window, it appears that United could have a struggle on their hands next month.

Although ten Hag’s might be desperate to push the one-time Manchester City starlet out of the Old Trafford exit, the Premier League giants are struggling to find a suitor willing to take on Sancho’s eye-watering £350,000 a week wages.
