Phillips set for Midlands return with Wolves?

Wolverhampton Wanderers will make a move for veteran striker Kevin Phillips when the transfer window reopens next month, according to the Mirrror.

Despite scoring the penalty that secured their return to the top flight in the play-off final victory at Wembley in May, the Crystal Palace striker has fallen out of favour this season, making just four league appearances, all of which have come from the bench late on in games amounting to just 77 minutes.

The former England international, who has gone on record as saying he has no plans to hang up his boots just yet, has already played for West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa and Birmingham City and now looks set for a return to the Black Country with Kenny Jackett’s promotion chasing side.

Wolves defeat against MK Dons last weekend saw them slip to second place in League One, though they remain 5/6 favourites to win the division.
