Strikers Krszysztof Piatek and Rafael Leao are set to remain with AC Milan past the January transfer window despite recent reports claiming otherwise, according to Corriere della Serra.
Piatek arrived to the seven-time European champions last winter in a €35 million deal, following terrific form previously shown at Genoa. However, like the whole Rossoneri team, he hasn’t shown anything of the kind this season, scoring only three times in 11 appearances in all competitions. The 24-year-old is one of the many names to have been linked with a move to Barcelona lately, with the Catalans keen on finding a long-term replacement for the 32-year-old Luis Suarez.
Leao, 20, came from Lille this summer for a reported fee of €23 million, and has only managed to register a single goal and an assist in eight games in the red-and-black shirt.
However, despite both players apparently misfiring so far and Milan’s season going in the wrong direction, it seems they are still trusted to come good eventually.
