According to Football Insider, Chelsea are working on identifying a suitable goalkeeper target for the upcoming transfer window, and at the moment, they’re considering Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale.
The Blues started the season with Robert Sanchez as the first choice between the sticks, but having suffered a serious knee injury in December, the former Brighton man was replaced in the team by Djordje Petrovic. The Serbian remains a regular starter under Mauricio Pochettino, despite Sanchez being back for a while now. It seems, however, that Chelsea are not satisfied with their options.
It is believed that Pickford is the primary target, but Everton, having secured Premier League survival, are likely to price the England No.1 out of a move this summer. With that in mind, Ramsdale would likely prove more attainable, given that he’s firmly behind David Raya at Arsenal. If the Gunners complete the permanent signing of Raya from Brentford as expected, Ramsdale will seek to leave the club.
