Various Italian newspapers claim that top Serie A clubs are hot on the trail of Genoa wonderkid Pietro Pellegri.
The talented footballer had scored his first league goal just one month after turning 16 as he netted in the final game of last season.
Pellegri achieved a new feat by bagging a brace in yesterday’s 3-2 defeat to Lazio, with his father Marco Pellegri watching from the bench as team manager.
The youngster was delighted with the achievement and praised his father’s contribution.
“It’s a dream come true that I’ve had since I was a child. It was an important evening for me and my father,” Pellegri told Mediaset Premium.
“My father has been following my career since I was little and it’s wonderful that he was so moved.
“He always took me to training, even in the cold and rain. He’s the one who keeps me on the right path in football, while my mother makes sure I study at school.”
According to reports, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all keen on Pellegri and could soon come forward with official proposals.
