Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has urged the Spanish club's fans to turn out en masse for the team's Champions League qualifier at home to Poland's Wisla Krakow on Wednesday.
“The more people who turn out the better it is for us and I hope they start cheering on the team from the start,” the 21-year-old said in comments published on the club's web site on Saturday.
The former Manchester United player said there is enough time for the squad to recover from their pre-season tour of the United States in time for their first leg encounter with Wisla Krakow.
“There are enough days for the team to get adapted to the time here,” he said.
Barcelona beat the New York Red Bulls 6-2 in an international friendly at the end of their pre-season tour of the United states on Wednesday. Tickets for the Barcelona-Wisla game went on sale on Thursday.
