Gerard Pique has been released from hospital following a heavy collision in Barcelona’s Champions League exit to Chelsea on Tuesday.
The defender sustained a suspected concussion early on at Camp Nou and was taken off after 25 minutes.
Pique spent the night under observation and was cleared of any serious injury on Wednesday.
“Gerard Pique has been discharged from hospital after follow-up medical tests proved satisfactory,” a club statement said.
“The Barcelona defender spent the night in hospital under observation after a heavy collision with Didier Drogba and Victor Valdes in the early stages of the match against Chelsea.
“The player will now rest for a week before being reassessed.”
Ramires and Fernando Torres cancelled out the first-half strikes of Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta as Chelsea reached the Champions League final with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Pique will miss Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga fixture against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday but the 25-year-old could return against Malaga on May 3.
