(GSM) – Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has dismissed speculation suggesting he would be willing to return to the Premier League with Manchester City.
City manager Roberto Mancini has targeted the former Manchester United man in an astonishing £90million swoop, according to newspaper speculation on Sunday.
And it has also been reported that the Eastlands club would be willing to pay a £50million transfer fee for the 23-year-old Spain international and offer him an £8million-a-year pay packet over five seasons.
Mancini is said to have spoken to City midfielder Yaya Toure, who made the same move from Camp Nou in the summer, in a bid to persuade Piqué to return to Manchester.
However, the World Cup winner insists he is happy in Spain, saying: “I have heard the rumour but my head is in Barcelona.
“And it’s not a question of money.”
