Pirlo set to ink new Juventus contract

Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Juventus star Andrea Pirlo is set to sign a new deal with the Italian giants.

The midfielder’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season, which has led to speculations linking him with a summer exit.

Nevertheless, Il Corriere dello Sport understands that the 34-year-old is about to sign a new two-year contract with the Bianconeri.

After exploring his options, Pirlo has decided to stay at Juventus and help the team enjoy some success in the Champions League as well having already restored domestic domination.

The Italy international joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer from league rivals AC Milan in the summer of 2011 and has since enjoyed a great deal of success in Turin.

Pirlo went on to feature in 85 Serie A fixtures for the Italian giants, scoring 11 goals and producing 22 assists in the process.
