The Metro are today reporting that Juventus midfielder and Italy’s star man from Euro 2012 Andrea Pirlo has said he would welcome Mario Balotelli to the club with open arms.
Pirlo, who linked up well with the Manchester City striker in this summer’s tournament in Poland and Ukraine said: “Would I take Balotelli to Juventus? Of course I would. I’d gladly take him to Turin. Mario is a guy who needs you to stay close to him.”
The 21-year-old’s future remains uncertain at the Premier League Champions after numerous clashes with manager Roberto Mancini last season.
City are also being linked with Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie. Should this deal be done then Balotelli may feel he needs to leave the Ethiad Stadium to guarantee first team football.
The Italian showed signs of really quality in Euro 2012, none more so than the 2-0 semi-final victory over German, where he scored a brace.
Playmaker Pirlo could be the perfect role model for Balotelli as he looks to develop as a player and a person.
The Citizens may be reluctant to let such a talent go though as many people forget how young he is. Balotelli could go on to be one of the best.
This is a story to keep an eye on in the transfer window and is sure to grab plenty of attention.
What will happen? We shall see.
