Talk Sport are today reporting that David Pizarro is on the verge of joining Serie A side Fiorentina after being told that he can leave Roma.
Pizarro had spent a loan spell at Manchester City last season but made just two starts and was never really too involved in Roberto Mancini’s plans.
The 32-year-old had also attracted the attention of Argentinean club River Plate, but he is set to want to stay in Italy.
It is likely that he only has a few more years at the highest level in him so this is certainly a massive move.
It is being suggested that Fiorentina will offer the former Chile international a two-year-deal, something which he is sure to be happy with.
Although Pizarro did not really feature for the Citizens last campaign, he was still involved in a side that won the English Premier League so he can use that incentive to go on and have a successful year at his next side.
It is clear that he is a quality player on his day and there could still be time for another big team to come in and make a move for Pizarro.
Will anyone do that? We shall see.
