Claudio Pizarro has extended his contract at Bayern Munich by an extra year.
The Peruvian returned for a second spell at the club last May from Werder Bremen.
And the former Chelsea striker will now stay at the Bundesliga champions to play under new manager Pep Guardiola.
“I am 34 – I could think of nothing better than signing another contract at Bayern Munich,” Pizarro told the club’s official website.
“I am convinced we will have a good year together.
“What will happen in a year, I can’t say. But I feel very good and would like to play football for as long as possible.”
Bayern will be looking to build on a highly successful season after the UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal were added to their Bundesliga triumph.
