Chelsea have made first steps towards the realisation of a summer deal for Miralem Pjanic, according to Daily Express.
Chelsea are believed to be set for the £31 million crunch talks with AS Roma playmaker who is believed to have arrived in London to personally discuss transfer details with Chelsea representatives.
Just a day after Antonio Conte has been confirmed as new Chelsea boss, who will take over the reins from Guus Hiddink at the end of the season and after the Euro 2016 finals in France, Blues have stepped up the chase for Bosnian star, who is thought to be recommended by the Italian manager himself.
Miralem Pjanic has attracted a lot of interest from European clubs this season with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all closely following the former Lyon star.
The 26-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international has this season played 28 Serie A games for AS Roma, adding nine goals and ten assists in the process.
His contract with the Giallorossi expires in 2018 and Chelsea will have to match his £31 million buyout clause in order to bring the highly-rated midfielder to Stanford Bridge at the end of the season.
