Three Premier League clubs face a deadline in their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Timo Werner as the summer transfer window approaches, according to a recent report from Sky Sports.
Werner is widely considered to be one of the best goalscorers in world football today, and even Leipzig themselves will admit that it seems like a matter of time before he finally leaves the Bundesliga.
The three clubs in question have 12 days to trigger his release clause if they want to acquire his services for less than £50 million, with his release clause of £49 million standing until June 15. The first choice for Werner is still believed to be Premier League leaders Liverpool, but they’re not prepared to pay the aforementioned fee at this moment in time due to the current climate.
Unfortunately for them, that hesitation could prove costly with United and Chelsea also still lingering as the countdown continues into the summer.
