(GSM) – Frank Lampard could return much sooner from his injury than expected to face Arsenal on Sunday.

The Chelsea midfielder opted for a placenta therapy in Serbia to cure his injury. Lampard tore a thigh muscle while on England duty for the match against Brazil earlier this month and was expected to be out for three weeks.

The 31-year-old visited Mariana Kovacevic’s clinic in Serbia. In the past, she treated several players like Marko Pantelic, Robin van Persie and Yossi Benayoun.

Kovacevic uses the most fertile cels of a placenta combined with electric waves to speed up the body’s self-curing power.

“He has trained for the last two days and will train again on Thursday. We hope he will be fit,” stated Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian is optimistic about Lampard’s chances to return before Sunday’s Premier League battle at the Emirates.
