“I wasn’t in agreement [with the decision] but at that moment they believed that was best for the clubs,” said Pochettino.
“But I think he [Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy] and a lot of people now realise it was a massive mistake. I hope that we fix the problem for the next season.
“For me it’s not common sense and we need to go back quick, hope they have a good conversation at the Premier League and go back quickly [to how it was].”
Those are the words of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the decision for the transfer window deadline to be brought forward in order to coincide with the start of the new Premier League season.
The belief is that this move leaves sides in the Premier League vulnerable, as clubs around the rest of Europe have a few extra weeks to try and get their business done.
