In an unusual break from the emerging Chinese trend, former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski chose to join Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
Turkish media claim that Galatasaray forward has agreed on a move that will go through at the end of the season even though the Turkish giants were initially unwilling to sell the German international.
The 31-year-old attacker is thought to have convinced the Galatasaray management to let him go at the end of the current campaign in a deal that would see Turkish giants pocket €2.7 million for the signature of the experience striker.
Podolski himself is set to put pen to paper on a three-year deal worth €5 million a season.
Japanese club has been in contact with Lukas Podolski for quite some time now and the German is thought to have agreed on a move two weeks ago.
Podolski has made only 8 Super Lig appearances this season for Galatasaray scoring 3 goals in the process, although he grabbed the headlines earlier in January with his five goals in the Turkish Cup game against 24 Erzincanspor.
The German international added a brace a week before that in a Cup match against Elazigspor.
