Cologne striker Lukas Podolski was at a loss for words after his team’s 6-1 Bundesliga loss at home to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
The drubbing leaves Cologne in 14th place in the Bundesliga table, just one point above the relegation zone.
The Germany international, who is reportedly set to join Arsenal in the summer, urged his side to push forward in a bid to avoid the drop.
“I have no words to describe this loss,” Podolski told Express. “I think we played well in the first half. Dortmund had very few opportunities. And then, in the second half, we just broke down again.
“Each match from now on is a cup final for us.”
The 26-year-old was asked if the time had come to sack coach Stale Solbakken.
“There is no point in replacing people. We have screwed up on the pitch, and will just have to start over again in the next match,” he said.
