Cologne striker Lukas Podolski is unconcerned by Schalke’s interest in signing him and says he just wants to enjoy his football.
The Germany international’s impressive form in the 2011/12 campaign has not gone unnoticed, with several clubs keeping tabs on him after 13 Bundesliga goals so far, but the attacker is not thinking about leaving his current club just yet.
“There will be several more clubs who will show an interest in signing me in the next few weeks and months, but there’s not really anything I can do about that,” Podolski told Goal.com.
“I’m just trying to put in good performances and play some good football. I have no influence on the comments of directors from other clubs, and I really don’t want to react to that and deny things week after week.”
“It’s normal that other teams make enquiries when you’re in good form. I still have a contract until 2013 though.”
Podolski, 26, has helped Cologne to 10th spot in the Bundesliga table, scoring a brace in their 4-0 victory over Freiburg on Saturday.
