Germany striker Lukas Podolski is talking up his country’s chances ahead of Euro 2012.
The Cologne forward believes the 2008 runners-up have waited long enough to regain the trophy they have won three times already.
Podolski, 26, has been linked to a 12 million pounds move to Arsenal and a strong performance against Europe’s best could confirm the deal.
“It is our turn. We lost the Euro 2008 final against Spain. Then they beat us in the semi-final (of the World Cup) in 2010,” he said.
“So I think 2012 it is about time. We are ready. If you consider how we played throughout the qualification everything is set for the title. We will give our best to reach the final.”
Podolski starred for the Germans in Austria and Switzerland, scoring three goals in the tournament.
His record in front of goal for his country is exceptional – 43 goals in 95 internationals.
