Lukas Podolski has reiterated that money will not be a determining factor when it comes to deciding whether to leave Cologne.
The Germany international is out of contract in June 2013 and although his hometown club have reportedly put together a lucrative financial package in order to persuade him to stay, speculation is mounting that the forward will push for a transfer at the end of the season.
Lokomotiv Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala and are both attempting to lure Podolski to Russia with four-year contracts worth approximately 12 million euros per season, according to Sport-Bild.
English side Arsenal are said to be only offering a yearly wage of six million euros, but Podolski insists should he decide to quit Cologne, he will join the club which presents him with the most interesting sporting challenge.
“Money is not the most important thing for me,” Podolski told Sport-Bild. “What is crucial is the development of my game.”
The former Bayern Munich man is currently enjoying his second stint with Cologne after spending three years with the Bavarians between 2006 and 2009.
