Lukas Podolski will be available for as little as €6 million if Koln get relegated to the second division, Bild reports.
The Germany international has set his sights on leaving the club in the summer, and Arsenal appear to be leading the race for his signature.
The 26-year-old, whose contract does not expire until June 2013, would cost between €15m and €18m.
However, Bild claims that there is a clause in the player’s contract allowing him to leave for just €6 million if Koln get relegated to Bundesliga 2.
The Billy Goats currently occupy 14th place in the standings, but they are just three points clear of the relegation zone.
The highly rated forward has done everything he could to keep his side above the bottom three, having scored 16 goals in 20 Bundesliga games.
After taking just one point from last four league games, Koln are set to welcome fellow strugglers Hertha next Saturday.
