Real Madrid may have the best chance to get the Paul Pogba transfer from Manchester United over the line in the next transfer window, claims AS reporter Marco Ruiz.
The United midfielder has been heavily linked with the Spanish giants ever since he openly expressed his view that it would be a ‘dream’ for any player to play for Real Madrid about a year ago. The saga was particularly active last summer, when fresh rumours on the subject popped up several times per day. With United unwilling to sell, the move didn’t happen just then, and his former club Juventus seem to have entered the race as well.
Now Pogba is about to enter the final 12 months of the contract binding him to Old Trafford, and United have apparently contacted his agent Mino Raiola to discuss an extension. But if an agreement isn’t found soon, the 20-time English champions are expected to open the door for his exit in order to avoid any possibility of losing him for free in 2021.
