Pogrebnyak wants Premier League stay

Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak is hoping to remain in England after the summer, according to his representative.

The Russian forward looks set to leave the Royals at the end of the current campaign, and it appears that he is not interested in playing in the Championship.

Despite interest from some of top Russian sides, it looks as though he is looking to remain in the Premier League.

Asked by Russian newspaper Sport Express whether Pogrebnyak was looking to remain in England, agent Oleg Artemov said: “Yes.”

Pogrebnyak arrived to the Premier League in January 2012, when he joined Fulham from Stuttgart, and he went on to score 6 goals in 12 league appearances for the Cottagers.

He left Fulham to sign for Reading last summer, but hasn’t quite managed to prove his worth at Madejski Stadium.

The 29-year-old made a total of 26 league appearances for the Royals, but only managed 5 goals.
