Poland U21 welcome Slovakia U21 to the Arena Lublin in the U21 European Championships this evening, and Poland are favourites to come out on top in their opening group game. Despite a recent blip, the Poles were in good form and should have enough to dispatch of a Slovakia side who have struggled away from home.

Marcin Dorna’s Poland side lost their last two games 2-1 to Italy and Czech Republic, but won three in a row prior to that, scoring nine goals without reply. Poland have a poor recent in the U21 European Championships, having failed to qualify between 1994 and 2017 but they’ve only lost two games since November 2015 and should deliver at home.

As for the visitors, Pavel Hapal’s Slovakia side have won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four games in all competitions, but haven’t been in the competition since 2000.
