(GSM) – On-loan Mainz 05 midfielder Eugen Polanski has made his switch to the Bundesliga side permanent from Getafe after signing a full-time contract.
The 24-year-old, who was on loan from Getafe until next June, has agreed on a new three-year contract with Mainz 05 and will not be returning to Spain in the summer of 2011.
“Mainz is an excellent club for me,” he said. “Next year, we will move to a fantastic brand new stadium and I feel very happy in the region with my family.
“I am really glad to have completed this transfer so soon as this gives me room to plan beyond next summer.”
Polanski, however, was unable to celebrate his new contract with a win on Saturday as Mainz 05 lost their second game in a row, going down 1-0 at Freiburg.
