Competition: League Two

Market: Port Vale win

Odds: 5/4 @ Bet 365

Looking to move within touching distance of the top-seven, Port Vale will make the trip to relegation scrappers Morecambe on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Morecambe may have managed to snatch a 1-1 draw off of Colchester over the weekend, Derek Adams’ men are on a four-match winless run and still find themselves sat five points adrift of safety. Along with recording just a single strike in over 300 minutes of action, no team in England’s fourth-tier have shipped more than the Shrimps’ 45 goals this season. Now seen as a huge favourite to lose their Football League status this year, Morecambe have landed just a single victory since the start of November and Tuesday could prove to be yet another long night for the relegation scrappers.

As for the visitors, despite being hit with back-to-back Cup defeats against Salford and Premier League giants Manchester City last week, Port Vale are still dreaming of mounting a League Two play-off charge. Making a return to winning ways with a 1-0 win over another relegation scrapper in Stevenage over the weekend, John Askey’s men are in the midst of a six-match fourth-tier unbeaten run that stems back to the 7th of November. Picking up a 3-1 victory when they welcomed Morecambe to Staffordshire back in October, we’re backing Tuesday’s guests to come away with maximum points in midweek.
