(GSM) – Porto came back from behind to beat Sporting Braga 3-2 in Saturday’s Portuguese league action and extend their lead in the process.

The winner of the match between Porto and Braga was certain of finishing the day in first place, something that clearly seemed to motivate both teams.

Braga drew first blood through Luis Aguilar in the 16th minute but Silvestre Varela leveled in the 34th.

Lima then restored the away side’s lead shortly after the hour but Brazilian Hulk made it 2-2 another few minutes later. In the 70th minute, Silvestre Varela netted his second for a 3-2 final score.

Porto were a man down in the final minutes as Fernando Belluschi received a second yellow card late on, but the home team held on to their narrow lead.

In the capital city meanwhile, Sporting Lisbon were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Olhanense.
