Porto have announced they have purchased another 40% of the economic rights of striker Hulk for the fee of €13.5 million.

The Liga Sagres outfit also used the opportunity to extend the player’s contract until June 2016.

“Football Club Porto SAD hereby announces pursuant to and for the purposes of art. 248, paragraph 1 of the Securities Code, the purchase of additional 40% of the economic rights of player Givanildo Vieira de Souza (Hulk), from Club Atletico Rentistas, for the amount of €13,500,000,” read the statement on club’s official website.

Having already purchased 45% of the player’s rights for €5.5 million when the Brazilian arrived to Porto in 2008, the Dragons now hold 85% of the player’s rights.

“We also inform that FC Porto SAD extended the employment contract with the player until June 2016, with the termination clause in the contract staying at €100,000,000.”
