Portuguese giants FC Porto are in pole position to sign Marseille hotshot Gianelli Imbula, according to L’Equipe.
It has been clear for several weeks now that the talented midfielder will be leaving OM this summer, but guessing his future destination has proved a very difficult task.
Namely, Imbula has already been on the verge of joining both Inter Milan and Valencia, but he could now take a U-turn and sign for FC Porto instead.
Namely, while aforementioned sides have hesitated in closing the deal, the Dragons have submitted an offer Marseille cannot afford to refuse.
Porto have proposed to sign the midfielder on a season-long loan with an obligatory purchase option set at €25 million, so it would appear as though they only need the green light from the player and his representatives.
Despite already seeing Andre Ayew, Andre-Pierre Gignac, Jeremy Morel and Dimitri Payet leave this summer, Marseille look set to sanction the sale of another important member of the squad.
