Portuguese giants FC Porto are considering a summer bid for Rayo Vallecano striker Alberto Bueno, A Bola has learned.
The Dragons expect to stay without star forward Jackson Martinez in the summer and the Spanish footballer is one of their primary targets to replace him at Estadio do Dragao.
FC Porto coach Julen Lopetegui knows Bueno well having coached him at Real Madrid Castilla and he has been impressed with the forward’s form this season.
The 26-year-old netted 15 times in 26 La Liga outings despite playing for relegation-threatened Rayo Vallecano and he is certain to leave his current employers for greener pastures at the end of the season.
Bueno will be out of contract in just over three months and he will have no shortage of offers following this year’s heroics.
After coming through the youth ranks at Real Madrid, the forward played for Valladolid and Derby County, but it was at Rayo Vallecano that he finally kick-started his career.
