FC Porto are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Brazilian defender Marcos Luis Rocha Aquino from Atletico Mineiro, ESPN Brazil can reveal.
The Dragons widely expect star player Danilo to leave at the end of the season and they see the 26-year-old as a good long-term replacement.
ESPN Brazil reports that Porto are currently negotiating a transfer fee with Atletico Mineiro, who are holding out for €10 million.
Marcos Rocha began his professional career at Atletico Mineiro, but also had loan spells with Uberlandia, CRB, Ponte Preta and America MG before nailing down a regular starting berth.
The right-sided defender has been playing at a very high level over the last couple of years and he is almost certain to move to Europe in the near future.
Rocha has so far amassed 193 league appearances for the Brazilian giants, scoring a total of 11 goals in the process, while earning two Brazil caps.
