Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola has learned that FC Porto are closing in on Nacional midfielder Ali Ghazal.
The Dragons look set to stay without holding midfielder Fernando in the summer transfer window and they see the Egyptian as a good long-term replacement.
According to A Bola, Porto officials are stepping up their interest in the player and they are almost certain to lure him to Estadio do Dragao at the end of the current campaign.
After spending his early years with Egyptian side Wadi Degla, Ghazal began his professional career at Nacional, and he didn’t need a lot of time to impress in Portuguese Primeira Liga.
The 22-year-old nailed down a regular starting berth last season, making nine starts in the second part of the league campaign.
Ghazal has started no less than 24 league fixtures this term and seems to have done enough to earn a lucrative move to FC Porto.
