Porto line up Adriano to replace Hulk; Juventus to sign Moroccan hotshot

Porto line up Adriano to replace Hulk

Porto are weighing up move for Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Dragons are slowly coming to terms with losing star forward Hulk, who has seen his name linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs.

The Porto chiefs are, therefore, looking to sign a replacement for the Brazilian and they hope to lure one of his compatriots to Dragao.

A Bola reports that the Portuguese giants are showing interest in Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Luiz Adriano.

The 25-year-old is believed to be looking for a new challenge after spending last four years in Ukraine and he could find a proposal from Porto interesting.

A Bola claims the Brazilian is valued at €6 million, which is a small price to pay for such a good player.

Adriano has scored a total of 37 goals in 79 league appearances for Shakhtar, while bagging 17 goals in 42 games in European competitions.

Juventus to sign Moroccan hotshot

Italian daily Tuttosport reveals that Juventus have agreed to sign midfielder Omar El Kaddouri from Bescia.

The Bianconeri have been very active in the transfer market over the last few weeks and they are currently attempting to sign Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Isla from Udinese, as well as Marco Verrati from Pescara.

Meanwhile, they have wrapped up a deal for Brescia youngster Omar El Kaddouri, with the transfer set to be announced later today.

The Morrocan midfielder has come a long way over the last year or so, having recently played in the third division.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a great season with Brescia, having scored 7 goals in 37 Serie B appearances last season and is now set to make a huge step in his career.

The player, who was born in Belgium, recently opted to represent Morroco on international level in spite of playing for Belgium Under-21 side.

Barcelona continue chase for new centre-back

Barcelona officials have outlined three possible options for the problematic centre-back position, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalans were hoping to sign Thiago Silva from AC Milan, but have now admitted defeat in their chase for the highly rated Brazilian and decided to look elsewhere.

Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona have three different scenarios in their search for a new central defender.

The first one is Athletic Bilbao star Javi Martinez, who is the main alternative to Thiago Silva, but his hefty price tag could prove to be a problem.

The Spain international has a €40 million release clause inserted in his deal, and Athletic are not willing to lower their valuation of the player.

The second option would be to rely on a player from their own ranks, in which case Andreu Fontas, Marc Bartra and Marc Muniesa come into picture.

The final possibility is to try and sign a talented youngster who would not be too expensive, someone like Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez.
